North America’s Favourite Mountain Bike Race, Crank the Shield, begins Sep. 17.
By Chico RacingAfter two incredible years, Crank the Shield is gaining in popularity around North America – with many of the 2009 participants from all over the continent. This 3-day mountain bike stage event begins September 17th, and concludes September 19th, 2010 in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands Region.
Chico Racing is thrilled to announce some exciting news for Crank the Shield 2010:
Two-time Mountain Bike Olympian at CTS 2010 – “I’m very pleased to have a world class Canadian rider like Seamus McGrath at Crank the Shield this year. He and I raced together 15 years ago – so to see the success he has had over the years, and then to be a part of this event is just fantastic.” expressed Adam Ruppel, of Chico Racing.
In addition to participating in the Ontario’s only mountain bike stage race, riders will now also get to enjoy racing, and traveling alongside a Canadian mountain bike legend.
Course Preview Videos – Crank the Shield Course Preview Videos are available on Chico Racing’s YouTube Channel. In addition, other course updates include the removal of the rail trail from Stage 2, and adding more mountain bike trail. This change also allows riders to finish at Camp White Pine, and not have to shuttle from Haliburton to Camp White Pine – all new for 2010!
Also New for 2010 – Short Course Crank the Shield option with 20 – 30 km less riding each day than the regular courses.
