World Expeditions wins first Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Award!
By OutpostAdventure travel and small group holiday specialists World Expeditions won the inaugural 2008 Leadership Award at last week’s Responsible Travel and Tourism Forum, (RTTF) in Toronto, Canada.
“We are so honoured to win this award because we’ve put so much energy towards responsible travel everywhere we visit,” said Nathalie Gauthier, North American manager of World Expeditions.
The Leadership Award was established to recognize an organizations corporate social responsibility practices and was open to tour operators, agents, accommodations providers and destinations.
World Expeditions was awarded for its many initiatives, which include efforts to preserve forests in Nepal, and its Community Project Travel programme that aims to improve the living conditions of remote communities in many countries across the world, including Nepal, Cambodia, Peru and Vietnam.
